About this grant

Funds watershed-based planning and implementation projects that mitigate or protect Nevada waters from nonpoint source (NPS) pollution, including streambank stabilization, agricultural best management practices, low-impact development, and other activities that reduce pollutant loads. Projects must align with EPA-accepted Watershed-Based Plans or approved Alternative Plans. Eligible recipients include government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions.

What you get

Federal 319(h) funding ranging from approximately $25,000 to $500,000 per project
Up to $900,000 total available for the 2026 grant cycle
Watershed-based planning proposals may receive up to $80,000
Project period of performance up to three years (longer timeframes may be permissible)
Technical support and guidance from NDEP NPS Program Staff
Access to applicant support webinars covering eligibility, proposal structure, and intent

Long-Term Operation and Maintenance Plans

Budget and Budget Justification using the 2026 NPS GFO Budget Template
Letters of Commitment from partnering entities and landowners (if applicable)

Eligibility

Must be a federal, state, local, or tribal government; interstate or intrastate public agency; public or private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization; or eligible educational institution
Implementation project proposals must reference an EPA-accepted Watershed-Based Plan or approved Alternative Plan
Implementation projects must include a 50% match from non-federal sources
Applicants must have financial capacity to pay project expenses upfront and request reimbursement quarterly
Projects must implement the State Management Plan 2026-2031 or address NPS pollution in eligible watersheds
Activities related to NPDES permit requirements, ambient monitoring, general planning/research, or general education not tied to implementation are not eligible
