About this grant

Provides microgrants to young residents ages 15–24 to develop and lead climate action initiatives. Projects must be proposed, designed, and led by at least two young people in cooperation with eligible sponsor organizations. Funding flows directly to the sponsor organization, but youth participants are responsible for managing the budget.

What you get

Microgrant up to $5,000 per project
A single organization may receive up to three microgrants for separate projects
Grant period from November 2026 through April 15, 2027

Budget narrative (managed by youth)
Signed certifications and assurances (Appendix 2)
Image release and indemnification forms (Appendix 3)

Eligibility

Youth applicants must be ages 15–24
Project must be proposed, designed, and led by at least two young people
Must partner with an eligible sponsor organization
Must be a DC resident
Funding goes directly to the sponsor organization
Youth are responsible for managing the project budget
