Grant for Kansas Downtown Revitalization Nonprofits and Local Governments

• Up to $500,000 in grant funding for downtown block transformation
• 50% of award disbursed upon execution of grant agreement
• 50% of award disbursed upon project completion and submission of required documentation
• Recognition as a model for other Kansas communities

• Signed State Policy Regarding Sexual Harassment Acknowledgment Form
• Project area map and parcel/property map
• Current photographs of the entire block
• Property inventory and detailed project budget
• Contractor/vendor list and contractor quotes or commitments for major work
• Letters of support/agreement to participate from property owners
• Project timeline and weather/contingency plan
• Documentation of required matching funds and existing or proposed public/private investments

• Must be a Kansas nonprofit organization, unit of local government (city, county, or eligible governmental entity), or Tribal Nation located in Kansas
• Must demonstrate control, participation, or documented cooperation from property owners necessary to complete the proposed project
• Must demonstrate ability to complete proposed improvements within the required project period (by December 15, 2026)
• Must have required 1:1 matching funds available and committed at the time of application
• At least 75% of required match must be cash or grant funds; up to 25% may be in-kind contributions
• Project must involve a single downtown block containing at least three structures
• Must be able to complete all construction and rehabilitation within a 10–14 day window once work begins
• Individuals and for-profit businesses applying independently are ineligible
